Our Camp Norway concept primarily arranges supporter tours at home and abroad. On these tours, all the guests stay together in the same place – in their own ‘camp’. We often attend a large event abroad where many other nations also participate. And we like to show that we all come from Norway – Camp Norway!
During the Winter Olympics in Turin in 2006, we did four tours in total, and took 600 Norwegians to Turin, where we stayed in a monastery on the outskirts of the city. In a sporting sense, Turin was a low point for Norway, but Camp Norway was a great success! Groups of friends, business colleagues and people traveling alone, all came together and made a great group. We had our own Norwegian team of chefs specialising in Italian food, and four Norwegian musicians provided the perfect backdrop.
At the Vancouver Olympics in 2010 Expa (known as Explore Arcadia at the time) was the largest Norwegian operator in attendance. We had 275 participants in Camp Norway in Whistler, where all the skiing events took place. The impressive sporting results for Norway made it easy for us to enjoy ourselves amid the wonderful Canadian hospitality.
Camp Norway was established in association with the XX Winter Olympics in Turin, and is a part of Expa.
