Bjørn Tore is a Lieutenant Colonel, a graduate of the Military Academy and the Norwegian Defence Command and Staff College. He has an MBA from the ESCP Business School in Paris. He has a varied background from the army, serving in Kosovo and working at the NATO headquarters in Brussels for four years. He currently works as a full-time shop steward for the Norwegian Union of Military Officers, and is a freelance Tour Leader at Expa.
Bjørn Tore is a road and mountain biking enthusiast. He is the leader of Northern Norway’s biggest cycling club, Harstad Cykleklubb. In the summer of 2014 he completed the Offroad Finnmark 300 km, and he generally takes part in a range of other (less significant :-)) sportives. The goal is always to complete it in style, followed by a social gathering with friends, good food and wine.
Bjørn Tore, (or BT to his friends) has a positive outlook on life, he is optimistic, and believes in a combination of training and reward. An unpleasant brush with the ground during the Birkebeiner race in 2014 resulted in a broken collar bone and a falling out with his bike.
Seeing the positives in any situation, however, he bought a new bike as a reward and motivation for himself, and a new friendship began
BT speaks fluent English and speaks a ‘restaurant version’ of French and German. He has recently started learning Italian.
