For a long time, we have dreamed of being able to take you on a really active trip in the far north of Norway. And now we are finally launching precisely that adventure!
On this trip, we drive a snow scooter through the wild landscape of northern Norway, we take a RIB boat over the fjord to do some sea rafting and cod fishing, and we go to the famous North Cape plateau on a four-wheel drive ATV.
There will be deep-sea fishing for big cod, grilled hot dogs by the fire, as well as outdoor saunas and hot tubs and dinner in a lavvu. We’ll be staying in cabins and fishing cabins.
We have chosen the end of February and the end of March for our northern adventure. It’ll give us the opportunity to experience northern Norway in its winter beauty – and hopefully we’ll get to see the famous northern lights!
Standing on the North Cape and looking at the northern lights is a powerful feeling. It’s simply beautiful!
The trip starts and ends in Lakselv in the municipality of Troms and Finnmark. Together with our partners we’ll do a snow scooter safari in the fantastic landscape of northern Norway. After a while, we’ll swap to a RIB boat and sail out over the Sarnesfjord for fishing and sea rafting. On the last day, we drive cool ATVs up to the North Cape plateau.
We’ll stay in newly renovated cabins for one night and lovely modern fishing cabins for two nights. Both the cabins and the fishing cabins have double rooms. We share a shower and toilet.
You will be given warm winter clothes, gloves, boots, and a helmet to use on the various vessels.
All meals, accommodation, equipment, transport, RIB trip, rental and insurance of the snow scooter and ATV are included in the price. The only thing you need to arrange yourself is the journey to and from Lakselv. If you fly from Oslo, there is a direct flight with SAS that lands at 11.45a.m. We start by meeting at the airport at 12.00p.m. on the day of arrival.
All the excursions are with professional and experienced local guides. We start each excursion with a safety and equipment demonstration. You’ll receive all the technical equipment you need when you get there. You will find an equipment list further down the page.
You need a class B driver’s license to be able to drive the scooter and the ATV. The price is based on two people on each scooter/ATV. You don’t need any prior experience to be able to drive. You will be instructed when you get there.
The snow scooters are new/nearly new 650-800cc from Polaris, with approx. 12o hp. All the ATVs are the Polaris 570 touring model.
This trip is for you if you like a trip that’s active and rich in experiences, and if you want to do exciting activities that are a little bit out of the ordinary. You probably won’t find a better starting point for lots of fun and some really memorable experiences.
The trip runs from Friday to Monday, and in 2021, you can choose between 3 departure dates in February and March.
You can of course extend your stay and stay for a few more days on your own.
We will be staying in modern fishing cabins right at the water’s edge.
The cabins and fishing cabins have double rooms where we share the shower and toilet. All bedding and towels are provided.
The food is made by the guides. There will be delicious, local food and lovely hospitality for the entire stay.
Meals included in the price:
Exception:

Arrival at Lakselv 11.45a.m. (we recommend flying from Oslo with SAS).
The crew will meet you at the airport and a car takes you to Stabbursnes (approx. 20 mins) for lunch at Stabbursnes Lodge.
From here we drive a snow scooter to Kokelv, (approx. 90km) through the amazing northern Norwegian landscape!
We stop on the way to do some ice fishing and grill some hot dogs.
Arrive at the cabin 7.00p.m.
Dip in the hot tub before dinner.
After a good breakfast, there will be a short briefing of the day’s events before we head towards Smørfjord, (approx. 30km).
We leave the scooters and board the RIB for Sarnes. On the way, we will try some sea fishing – we’ll see if we can catch some big cod!
Lunch will be served on arrival in Sarnes where we’ll stay in fishing cabins.
Dinner will be our own catch of fish prepared in the northern Norwegian way!
We end the day with an outdoor jacuzzi, where we can sit and look for the northern lights.
After a delicious breakfast, we’ll get together for a run through of the day’s adventure. We’ll have a thorough introduction to our new vehicle, the ATV, before heading off towards the North Cape plateau. As we are driving through a national park, we need permission to drive motorised vehicles. This is of course all arranged in advance.
We expect to arrive at the plateau at lunch time and eat lunch on the North Cape plateau itself… Here you will have time for some sightseeing on your own before we head towards Sarnes.
We end the day with some relaxation and the outdoor jacuzzi before the farewell dinner is served.
Check out from the fishing cabins and transport to the airport at Lakselv (SAS have a departure to Oslo at 12.00p.m.).
